Child centre unwrapped

A CENTRE dedicated to Lynbrook preschool children was unveiled last week.
The stunning new Lynbrook Children’s Centre was opened by Casey mayor Kevin Bradford last Thursday.
The centre has received the tick of approval from local preschoolers and their families.
“The new building is a terrific asset for the Lynbrook area, providing a modern, double preschool, outdoor play area, a large space for a range of community activities and separate kitchen facilities,” Cr Bradford said.
Situated near a lake and among parklands, the building features an environmentally friendly design with a natural air ventilation system.
The centre has opted for a modern feel with a glass-encased bathroom and child friendly learning space complete with the ambience of running fountains and incense.
Outside, the children’s playground has a stream and stone bridge.
President of the Lynbrook preschool committee Melissa Foster said the Lynbrook community had been watching the developments of the centre over the past year and preschoolers were ‘raring to go’.
Ms Foster said Lynbrook had become an exciting place to live, with the opening first of the primary school and then the preschool, as well as the construction of the new shopping centre.
Cr Bradford said the City of Casey had invested $1.2 million on the Lynbrook Children’s Centre, the 26th council-managed preschool in the city.
“The City of Casey is committed to leading the way in the area of family and children’s services and the new children’s centre at Lynbrook will provide high quality, innovative and valued services for many children and families,” Cr Bradford said.
“Judging by the smiles of the children at the opening day, the centre will be enjoyed by the community for years to come.”
