Burglars use tools from sheds

CRANBOURNE police have urged residents to lock garden sheds after several house burglaries were carried out with tools stolen from sheds.
Last week, thieves stole a Kodak digital camera, X-box, video game and jewellery from a Cranbourne North house. They forced the back door using tools taken from a shed in the back yard.
Senior Sergeant Bernie Kaminski warned these types of thefts were common. “People should be mindful to ensure their sheds are locked so as not to allow thieves to easily break in to their houses,” he said.
The burglary happened between 7.30am and 4pm on 10 August at the Maltravers Crescent house.

POLICE were searching for a triple-axle trailer stolen from a Lyndhurst service station. The trailer was un-hitched from a semi-trailer and parked in the BP service station on the corner of the Western Port Highway and Thompsons Road.
It held two 20-foot shipping containers and was parked in the rear car park near the Red Rooster outlet.
One of the shipping containers contained a large quantity of alcoholic spirits while the other contained furniture.
The theft happened some time between 8pm on 27 July and 6am on 28 July.
The trailer had the registration number 313 15S. One of the containers is brown with the brand Cronos.
The other has Hamburg Sud written on its side.
Anyone with information should contact Cranbourne CIU, phone 5991 0600, or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
