RIVER Gum Primary School has received part-funding to build classrooms and student toilets and develop the grounds.
The $600,000 Australian Government grant will help the Hampton Park school provide better facilities.
The funding is part of the Government’s Capital Grants Program for schools, which focuses on improving the educational outcomes of educationally disadvantaged students.
The project aims to develop and maintain school infrastructure.
This year $278 million will be allocated nationally to capital projects in state schools, about $66.3 million going to Victoria.
