School holiday fun

CASEY’S Teenage School Holiday program will kick off on Monday providing fun and interesting activities for local teens.
On Tuesday, 10 January medieval history will come alive and Casey teenagers will be able to marvel at the daily life of peasants, craftspeople, noble ladies and knights in the Middle Ages.
Teenagers will also learn medieval games, stories, dances and crafts and the day includes a demonstration of medieval combat.
The event will be held at The Dove in Doveton, lunch is included and the cost is $7.
On Wednesday, 11 January there will be a Fishing Charter departing from Mornington Pier at a cost of $30. Local teenagers can come along and catch a fish during the five hours of fishing with all bait and equipment supplied.
A barbecue lunch is supplied and people are encouraged to bring a hat, sunscreen and bottle of water.
On Thursday, 12 January there will be five hours of indoor sporting activities including volleyball, soccer, football and tennis. People are encouraged to wear appropriate sporting clothes and bring their own lunch and bottle of water. The cost is free and the activities will be held at the Casey Indoor Sports Centre in Cranbourne.
On Friday 13, January there will be free glass design classes at the Cranbourne Youth Information Centre, where teenagers can make their own glass art, designing and creating a masterpiece using coloured gels and their own creativity. All materials are supplied.
There will be a visit to the Melbourne Aquarium on Tuesday, 17 January with teenagers invited to come and experience the undersea world of ghost-like jellies, massive rays, giant fish and more.
On Wednesday, 18 January local teens will be hitting the surf at Phillip Island with a two-hour surfing lesson with a professional instructor.
The cost is $25 and people are asked to bring their own lunch or money for fish and chips as well as bathers, towel, sunscreen, a hat and bottle of water.
There will be no more boring light globes after Thursday, 19 January with teenagers invited to attended a free light globe art session at the Cranbourne Youth Info Centre.
On Friday, 20 January there will be a cooking and craft day at the Merinda Park Community Centre in Cranbourne. Teenagers can learn to cook and eat a variety of dishes and unleash their creative genius as they learn to make a beaded dragonfly.
There will also be various jam sessions during the school holiday across Casey.
The first will be held at The Dove in Doveton on Friday, 13 January followed by a session at the Blind Bight Community Centre on Friday, 20 January. The jam sessions will be held from 4pm-9.30pm and a guitar, bass, drums, microphones and PA is supplied. No transport is available for this activity.
