A CRANBOURNE man suffered head injuries after the car he was driving ploughed into a tree on Saturday morning.
The CFA was called to free the trapped 27-year-old man after the Ford sedan ran into a tree on Endeavour Drive in Cranbourne North about 4am.
His passenger, a 19-year-old Dandenong man, was uninjured.
The driver was taken to The Alfred hospital by ambulance.
He was said to be in a stable condition and the injury was not serious.
Three CFA crews attended the crash, including Dandenong Rescue and Cranbourne pumper and tanker.
Senior Constable Leigh Moss from Cranbourne Police said it appeared speed was a factor in the collision.
Anyone with information call Cranbourne Uniform on 5991 0600.
