Lend a paw to shelter

PEARCEDALE’S RSPCA Animal Shelter is desperate for volunteers.
The shelter has called on local animal lovers to devote a few hours a week to helping out at the branch during the busy festive season.
Administration coordinator Gabrielle Hurley said the shelter was completely dependent on volunteers for it to survive, offering a range of duties for people from all walks of life.
“Volunteers undertake a wide variety of duties, from office/administration work and client liaison in our very busy reception area, general maintenance work around our 25-acre property and working hands on with the dogs and cats in the shelter,” she said.
Ms Hurley said the shelter had an innovative rehabilitation program that enabled trained staff and volunteers to work with animals from the moment they were admitted.
Anyone who is interested in becoming a volunteer should phone Ms Hurley on 5978 6706.
