Kidding around at Cheese Factory

THOUSANDS turned out at the Casey Kids Carnival, turning the grounds of the Old Cheese Factory into a vibrant spectacle of colour, laughter and excitement.
Local bands, live entertainment, stalls, music, face painting and much more brought families from around Casey to the gathering on a sunny day last Saturday, 3 March.
Casey mayor Colin Butler was delighted with the number of families that came along to the free family event.
“The Casey Kids Carnival celebrates children and young people and showcases that Casey is home to the largest youth population in Victoria,” he said.
“With lots of activities and entertainment to enjoy, this great community event is a time for families to get together and have some fun.”
He said this year’s line-up was the best yet, with more stall holders and activities to participate in, and a special guest appearance by everyone’s favourite bear – Humphrey B. Bear.
The huge line up of local entertainment included Sindy Mu Chinese Fan Dancer, Young Generation Filipino Dancers, a Tony Bones show, Sugar and Spice, African drumming performance, Fred Penner Show, Lion Bushido Karate Academy, Diva Talent, Dance Lab, R n K Hip Hop and Gee Whiz kids.
Local bands on the Youth Stage included Bobby James, The Long Dance, Heartless Vendetta, Terry Pietrosanto and Lewis Haskins, Talk Host Show, Overdriver and The Duvtons.
Feedback for the event was massive, with people commenting on the fantastic opportunity to get the kids out of the house for a family event and how well thought out the carnival was.
One parent said: “It’s one of the reasons why I love bringing my kids up in Casey. I’ll look forward to next year.”
While the kids enjoyed the variety and excitement of the entertainment, many of the older people were happy to kick back and enjoy a relaxing massage.
