Dads on track at races

DADS and their children along with happy punters cheered on the horses in the ‘look but don’t touch’ Dad’s Day Out event in Cranbourne on Sunday.
The racegoers were excited to get back into racing after the tense equine flu scare of the previous week, enjoying the sunshine and Father’s Day celebrations at the same time.
Cranbourne Turf Club events and operations manager Helen Flanigan said people had missed racing over the week and it was great to get back into it.
“Everything seemed to go really well,” she said.
“There was a restricted area to keep people from the horses but it all went well. Everyone was very considerate of the rules on the day.”
Dads and their kids and families took advantage of the free jumping castle while many people soaked up the sun with picnics on the lawn.
Ms Flanigan said it was great that the equine flu scare had not disturbed the race meeting and was looking forward to the next meeting at the Cranbourne Racecourse on 20 September.
