THIEVES raided local homes on Easter Sunday while families were away for the holiday long weekend.
In Lynbrook, two houses were broken into in Caversham Terrace between 3pm and 9pm on Sunday.
Police said in one house, the kitchen window was jemmied, jewellery stolen from the cupboards and the rooms searched. In the other house, thieves also forced their way through a backyard window.
Police said the burglars might have been on foot as only cartable items had been taken. Small valuable items as well as a Playstation 2 were stolen from the houses.
At about the same time in Cranbourne, a house on Maculata Drive was broken into between 3pm and 10pm.
A 61-inch television was stolen.
Police said the bedroom window, at the rear of the house, was forced open and the flyscreen slashed.
Anyone with information should contact the officer in charge at Cranbourne CIU on 5991 0661.
