Woman robbed by pokies neighbour

A CRANBOURNE woman was robbed as she and her son walked along High Street in darkness.
The woman had been playing pokies at Kelly’s Hotel and was talking to a man on the machine next to her on 28 July.
About 7.40pm the woman left the venue with the man and picked her son up from a nearby shop.
Police said the three walked north along High Street and when they reached the Subway shop the man grabbed the woman’s purse from a bag slung over her shoulder.
The man was described as in his late 20s, of Asian appearance and medium build, with a moustache, small goatee and black hair.
He was wearing a blue beanie with a spider on it, black jeans, runners and a red jumper with a light blue hood and was always scratching his head.
Police are examining video surveillance and pursuing other avenues of inquiry.
Anyone with information can contact Senior Constable Jo Watson at Cranbourne Police Station, phone 5995 4577.
