A 31-YEAR-OLD man held police at bay for more than eight hours during a siege in Cranbourne on Sunday night.
Police attended the Isaac Smith Crescent property about 5.30pm after they were contacted by the man’s defacto.
Police were told the man had a number of gas bottles in the house and was threatening to blow himself up.
The police critical incident response team, Casey TMU, Cranbourne and Narre Warren police and negotiators attended the scene.
Police eventually apprehended the man when he fell asleep about 1am.
He was taken to hospital for assessment.
Siege ends peacefully
