CHRISTMAS will be a little brighter for underprivileged children in Cambodia thanks to the efforts of the Cranbourne Arthritis Group.
Members devoted the past six months to creating Christmas boxes for an annual fundraiser organised by charity organisation Samaritan’s Purse.
Operation Christmas Child delivers giftfilled shoe boxes to millions of girls and boys in some of the world’s poorest countries.
The shoe boxes are filled with toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and other small gifts, as well as personal notes from those who packed the boxes.
Cranbourne Arthritis Group member Joan Wright said members made up 120 boxes that were picked up for delivery last week.
“We have been doing it for three years.
“It is something nice for the kids and it gets hand delivered to them,” Ms Wright said.
“It is a really great charity and we are happy to support it,” she said.
