POLICE were horrified after thieves defiled two Cranbourne homes after robbing them at Christmas.
In one incident, dog faeces were smeared over the mattress at a Walter Street house after it was broken into.
An X-box console as well as various copied games were stolen some time between 11.30pm on Christmas Day and 8am on Boxing Day.
The house was ransacked and a dining table in the rear yard damaged.
Police said thieves gained entry by forcing a rear window.
Between 3.30pm on Christmas Day and 6pm on Boxing Day, offenders broke into a house in Allemby Drive, Cranbourne West.
A window was smashed and a bedroom gone through and curtains opened.
The resident also found smelly water had been poured all over her bed.
Any witnesses are asked to contact Senior Constable David Measham at Cranbourne CIU on 5991 0661.
