Theft charges

A CRANBOURNE North man has been charged in relation to a spate of burglaries in Mornington, Oakleigh, Frankston and Cranbourne over the past month.
On Friday night a man was intercepted by police driving a stolen orange Ford utility.
During the interception, police discovered the car had been stolen during a burglary in Frankston and the driver was taken back to the Cranbourne Police Station for questioning.
The 23-year-old man was then charged with 25 counts of burglary, theft, going equipped to steal, theft of motor cars and other traffic offences.
The charges related to burglaries and thefts at Betta Electrical, Mobil service stations, G and C Communications in Cranbourne, local mechanics and repair shops and included thefts of cars, computers, cash and tools.
The man was remanded in custody to appear before the Frankston Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
