CRANBOURNE police chased a stolen car from Pearcedale North to Langwarrin on Monday.
Police began following the car when it took off at Pearcedale Road just before midday.
The stolen car was finally cornered by the detectives in Anthony Street, Langwarrin.
The driver, a 45-year-old Langwarrin man, was arrested at the scene.
He was charged with conduct endangering life, two counts of theft of a motor car, handling stolen goods and burglary and theft from businesses in the Cranbourne area.
He was remanded in custody to appear at the Dandenong Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Cranbourne police said Detective Fernando Cartagena from Cranbourne CIU attended the court hearing to oppose any bail applications.
