Low-down on disco

PARTYING at the Cranbourne Blue Light Disco just got cheaper.
In a move to make the monthly disco more accessible to local children, the entrance fee has been cut from $10 to $8. The third Blue Light Disco for 2008 will swing into action at 6pm this Saturday night at the Cranbourne Public Hall, on the corner of South Gippsland Highway and Clarendon Street. Cranbourne Blue Light Committee president Debbie Nobbs said a new DJ was also set to impress local party goers.
“The music will be a bit of everything, with plenty of top 40 and RnB,” she said.
The duration of the disco has also been reduced by one hour and will finish at 9pm to accommodate parents picking children up. With numbers swelling to 230 last month, Ms Nobbs is expecting attendance to increase further.
“We’re expecting to get up near 300 sometime this year,” she said. “We’ll hold 11 discos in 2008 and we’ve lowered the cost and widened the age range to accommodate students between grade four and year eight.”
