Lauren Drive to light up at night

RESIDENTS in Lauren Drive, Hampton Park, can feel safer at night after Casey Council approved plans to install more street lighting near their homes.
The move came after eight residents presented a letter to the council last month requesting more lights in their street.
At Tuesday’s council meeting, Cr Janet Halsall said she was pleased to see the joint letter had been acted upon so quickly.
“The lack of lighting had caused considerable concern in this part of Hampton Park and residents were worried about being out on the street at night,” she said.
“As everyone knows, perception is reality.”
Two additional streetlights will be installed in Lauren Drive as well as additional lights in Bradley Court and Tarella Street.
The lights will be installed within the next six to eight weeks.
