Cup fun for everyone

THE Cranbourne Pacing Cup is the annual showcase harness racing event in the district and this year’s meeting promises to be a huge celebration of fun and racing on Saturday, 1 December.
With the support of loyal sponsor Decron Horse Care Products, Cranbourne Harness Racing Club will host its gala night meeting in front of what is anticipated to be a huge crowd and chief executive David Scott is looking forward to the event.
“Hopefully the weather will be kind to us and the night will be another great one for harness racing in the area,” he said.
“We will have a number of the state’s best pacers racing on the night with our local hope Penny Veejay a real chance to win his home town cup.
“There will be plenty of fun and activities for the whole family on course and it is an affordable and entertaining night out for everyone.”
Among the attractions at Cranbourne on the night will be roving entertainers, a jumping castle, an inflatable slide, face painting, a baby animal farm, a virtual reality harness ride and a visit by Santa for the kids.
The first race will jump at 7pm with the last event scheduled for 11pm, providing four hours of high-class harness racing action on the night.
Admission will be $12 for adults, $6 concession and children free, with gates opening at 5.30pm for those who wish to come early and enjoy a picnic on the lawns.
Marquee packages are still available with all-inclusive packages at $75 per person and party marquees from $50 per person (no BYO alcohol).
Contact the club on 5996 8677 for inquiries and bookings or Cranbourne@hrv.org.au on email.
