Burglar bad sports hit again

A CONSTRUCTION company is reeling after its second break-in in a month.
HHM Constructions, based at the Casey Indoor Sports Complex in Cranbourne East, was burgled late last week after thieves climbed through the roof of the sports stadium.
It was the second time the company had been broken into, with a similar break-in four weeks earlier.
Police believe the offenders hid inside the complex until closing time then climbed up into the loft area and through to the offices some time between 5pm last Thursday and 6am on Friday.
They then stole a large quantity of power tools and equipment from a storeroom at the offices on Berwick-Cranbourne Road.
A spokeswoman from HHM Constructions said in the previous burglary the thieves managed to get in through the door.
She said while the security at the complex had not previously been up to scratch, Casey Council was working on improving it.
“They were very cooperative in replacing our doors,” she said.
“In both instances they were here the next morning looking to see what they could do to make it more secure.”
Anyone with information on the burglary is urged to contact Detective Senior Constable Mark Wiederhold at Cranbourne CIU on 5991 0661.
