TWO smoke bombs were discovered on Friday as excavators dug a pool.
Police said that about 4.30pm, two smoke canisters were found as excavators dug at a Chelsea home. The foreman then loaded the smoke bombs onto his truck and drove them back to his house in Cranbourne and parked in the driveway. He then contacted the army and the local police.
The army secured the area around Clarendon Street and identified the bombs. An army expert determined they were not dangerous and took them away for disposal.
It still has not been determined how old the bombs were or what they were doing buried at the property.
