CASEY residents will have the chance to discuss issues with their local representatives through an annual ward forum.
Council accepted a motion put up by councillor Janet Halsall at a recent council meeting asking that funding be provided so councillors could hold a forum during the 2007-08 financial year.
Cr Halsall said she, along with fellow River Gum Ward councillor Wayne Smith, held a successful forum last year.
“We are so convinced of the benefits that come with holding an event like this that we believe other councillors should do the same,” Cr Halsall said.
She said costs would be minimal with tea and coffee the basic supplies.
