Award for village

A HAMPTON Park retirement village has upped its standing in the community with an accreditation award.
The Hampton Heath Retirement Village was awarded by the Retirement Village Association for meeting certain standards.
These include Occupational Health and Safety, financial dealings, day-to-day running of the village, and accountancy.
The village opened in 1990 and is one of the smaller in the area, with just 53 units and 70 residents.
Village manager Kevin Adams said it was great to be awarded the accreditation.
Casey mayor Colin Butler helped present the award.
Cr Butler also pointed out that the City of Casey in the next 15 to 20 years would have the largest population of people over 70 in Australia.
Mr Adams said this meant people would be looking for retirement villages.
He said it could be very expensive to get into some villages, and although Hampton Heath does not sport pools, croquet and tennis courts, prices range around $190,000 for a home rather than $400,000 plus at some villages for example in Berwick.
“You’re also buying a style of life. The manager is there looking after you, cutting the lawn, and ready to call ambulances if needed and is a first aider,” Mr Adams said.
The village is located on the corner of Hallam Road and Coral Drive in Hampton Park. Call 9702 8611 for more information.
