Youths hit man with fence paling and bottle

A CRANBOURNE man was hit in the face with a fence paling and struck on the head with a bottle in a vicious assault outside his home.
Police said about 10.30pm on 25 September, a 43-year-old man heard something being thrown at his Lorna Drive house.
He looked outside and saw three teenage boys standing on the corner of Ash Street. He approached them and they assaulted him.
He then chased them up the street and they again assaulted him and hit him on the head with a bottle.
The man ran off but the boys then chased him back to his house and hit him in the face with a paling ripped off the fence.
The man was taken to the Dandenong Hospital after receiving several lacerations to the face and a puncture wound to the cheek from the nail in the fence paling.
One of the boys was described as between 16 and 17 years old, with blond hair and wearing a white top.
The other two were slightly younger and wearing dark clothing.
