Thieves scoop ice cream cash

THE new Lynbrook Shopping Centre was broken into last week.
Ice cream store Frekles was the only shop targeted when burglars smashed the front window of the store and stole the cash register, which had about $1000 cash in it.
The alarm went off at 1am on Tuesday, 22 May. A security guard attended but nothing was seen or heard.
Footage was later obtained from outside the centre, located on the corner of Lynbrook Boulevard and South Gippsland Highway, Lynbrook.
Police said the footage suggested the thieves picked up the register and ran in an easterly direction to a waiting car.
It showed a new model silver sedan, possibly a Mitsubishi or Holden, driving away from the shopping centre. A man in his late teens to mid-20s was also detected in the car. He was of medium build with shoulder-length hair with blond tips and wearing a dark jacket with thick stripes down each side.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Senior Constable Peter Carroll at Cranbourne CIU on 5991 0661.
