Stories top the priority list

CASEY’S enforcers and decision-makers took time out of their busy schedules last week to read to local kids.
As part of National Simultaneous Storytime, local identities read their favourite storybooks to children around the municipality last Thursday from 11am, joining story times around the country.
At Centro Cranbourne Shopping Centre, a local policeman, fireman and security guard entertained kids.
Senior Constable Brett Owen, fireman Phil Charles and security guard Charlie Crellin read the Magic Hat by Mem Fox at several sites at the centre.
The Magic Hat also featured at a number of local community groups, with preps from Cranbourne West Primary School also enjoying the popular tale.
At the Cranbourne Library, mayor Colin Butler entertained the local kids with his story telling skills, and Doveton Heights Primary School children also delighted in being part of the national storytime event.
Storytime aims to promote local libraries and the importance of reading.
