A MAN was arrested in Cranbourne last Thursday over a mobile phone scam.
Police said the man was arrested at 11am at the Telstra shop at Centro Cranbourne Shopping Centre.
Police said the charges related to false documents being produced at numerous stores to obtain mobile phones on contracts then selling them to people on the street or second hand dealers. Police also found cannabis, a white powder substance believed to be amphetamine and the keys to a stolen car.
A 24-year-old of no fixed address was remanded in custody after he was charged with eight counts of obtaining property by deception, theft of a motor vehicle, 16 counts of making and using false documents and possessing drugs.
