CASEY schools in the Holt electorate have been given $1.9 million in the latest Federal Government program.
Nineteen schools in the area will receive funding for projects identified as critical by the school.
Senator Mitch Fifield said schools often faced the long and arduous task of raising the necessary funding themselves.
“Local school communities are in the best position to identify the projects they need funded,” he said.
“Schools know better than Canberra or Spring Street what they need.”
The funding will go towards building facilities such as sports fields, toilet blocks, art rooms and playgrounds.
Schools will also be acquiring classroom furniture, shade structures, library resources, drama and performing arts equipment, information technology equipment, portable classrooms and air-conditioning.
