Furious driver injures two passengers

A CAR crash in Cranbourne on Sunday seriously injured a passenger after the driver got fired up in a road rage incident.
Police said a 20-year-old Cranbourne man was cut off as he was driving along the South Gippsland Highway.
Police said he then sped up, pulled in front of the other car and slammed on his brakes.
To avoid an accident, the other car quickly pulled out of the way and passed the 20-year-old.
Police said the Cranbourne man then repeated his actions, but this time lost control of the car, skidded across two lanes, hit the median strip and collided with a tree.
The crash happened 600 metres north of Camms Road at 11.30am.
Two passengers were trapped in the car after the crash and had to be rescued by Country Fire Authority excavators.
One passenger was taken to The Alfred hospital with serious head injuries and the other to Dandenong Hospital with moderate injuries.
The driver received only minor injuries.
The second car was not involved in the collision.
Acting Sergeant Peter Carroll said the incident was a good example of how things could go wrong when someone decided to take matters into his or her own hands.
No charges had been laid when the Cranbourne News went to press.
