Thieves have a thirst for takeaway

ANOTHER local Subway chain has been burgled.
The Cranbourne store on High Street was broken into on Anzac Day, with thieves stealing about $200 worth of soft drink.
This follows an earlier incident between 15 and 16 April in which a safe was stolen from the Hampton Park Subway at the Hampton Park Shopping Centre. The safe contained cash, and a cash register was also forced open in the incident. The Cranbourne store was previously broken into between 1 and 2 April, with thieves taking a quantity of cash.
In the latest incident, the rear door was forced open with a screwdriver or jemmy between 10pm and 11pm. The alarm was activated at the store at 10.30pm.
Police said video surveillance captured a man placing a large amount of soft drink on a garbage lid to carry it out.
He was described as between 30 to 45 years, of medium build, wearing a black beanie, black jacket, grey tracksuit pants, white runners and yellow gloves.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Senior Constable Mark Wiederhold at Cranbourne CIU on 5991 0661.
