Meet and greet

THE single over-40 age group is set to waltz up a storm when a local friendship group dance starts up next week.
Club Teutonia in Hampton Park is set to stage the monthly event where people will be able to come together in a relaxed and safe environment.
Musician Alan Taylor is set to provide the live music and will entertain the crowd with his wide-ranging repertoire.
Event organiser Glenda Gee said there were a lot of lonely people and she believed an event like this was a great opportunity to get out and meet new friends.
“We want to make it so it’s a safe place for everyone to come and enjoy themselves,” Ms Gee said.
She said there will be a range of dances including ballroom and barn dancing along with door prizes and other giveaways.
“We are going to try barn dancing so people can meet new people by swapping partners during the dance,” Ms Gee said.
Participants will be able to buy meals and drinks on the night.
The first event will take place on Saturday, 28 October from 8pm to 12.30am at Club Teutonia, 61 Olive Road, Hampton Park. A $8 entrance fee will be charged for the dance.
