THERE was movement at the station as more than 500 locals showed up for the Australia Day Sunset Cinema in Tooradin on Friday.
Organiser Marilyn Elso said the late night showing of The Man from Snowy River was successful, with people staying well into the night after the film had finished listening to music and chatting.
“The reason we picked the film we did was because of the recent fires and the devastation those fires did in the area, including the huts that were made for this film,” Ms Elso said.
Those who attended were also treated to performances from singers Raylene Boyle and Steve O’Neil, as well as free face painting, popcorn and fairy floss for the youngsters.
The Tooradin CFA put on a sausage sizzle.
Mrs Elso said the Australian Air League Cranbourne Squadron did a spectacular job with their parade and the flags.
She said the night only had a slight dampener put on it with some interruption and vandalism from some local youths.
