STUDENTS from six cluster schools in Casey banded together last week to battle it out on stage.
The oral competition, held at Lyndhurst Secondary College last Wednesday, saw the six school’s best speakers talk on issues they felt strongly about.
The event also involved Narre Warren South P-12 College, Lynbrook, Courtenay Gardens and Strathaird Primary Schools.
The students from years five to nine had to give a two-minute talk about any issue they wanted and had to present their talk in a persuasive way.
The final students were put through a selection process in which they had to speak in front of their class, were voted on by their classmates, and presented in front of the school.
The speech day against the other schools was the final stage of the competition.
Courtenay Gardens Primary School grade five teacher Jan Bruerton said the event was a golden opportunity for young leaders to have a voice and express their ideas, opinions and concerns.
