Gun stolen

A GUN has been stolen out of a car in Cranbourne this week, prompting warnings from police.
Police said the firearm was taken from a Nissan sedan on Josephine Avenue after it was broken into.
The rear passenger side window was smashed on the car parked outside the owner’s home.
The bolt action gun, a Ruger 22, was stolen. It had been kept on the floor of the back seat inside its proper container.
Police believe it was a random break-in.
Police said the owner of the firearm was a licensed shooter and had planned to go shooting that morning.
The theft took place between 4pm on Sunday and 7.30am on Monday.
The firearm is worth $800. Police are urgently appealing for witnesses.
Contact Detective Ed Keon-Cohen at Cranbourne CIU on 5995 4577.
