Getting on the floor

THERE were plenty of smooth moves at an Italian lunch and dance day in Cranbourne on Monday.
The special event was organised by the Cranbourne Italian Senior Citizens Club and had more than 140 dancers waltz up for a fun filled day.
Guests were entertained by the Jack’s Trio musical band that played a wide variety of old Italian songs.
President Val Motta said the monthly dance was a great success and a highlight for club members.
“We usually only have one a month but this was thrown in because of the Casey involvement with Senior’s Week,” Ms Motta said.
She said the dance floor was full all day with couples mostly dancing the waltz and tango.
“Our next dance is on 30 October,” she said.
Ms Motta added the club is open every Monday from 9.30am to 3pm at the Cranbourne Public Hall.
For more information call Val Motta on 5995 5590.
