CHILDREN disguised as storybook characters roamed the Cranbourne Library over the holidays.
Branch manager Kathie Olden said about 20 children dressed up as characters from their favourite stories of all time.
They then did craft activities where they had to dress a character.
They also read stories, played games and sang songs all within the theme of dressing up and clothes.
Ms Olden said everyone got really into the event, with lots of fairies and princesses, and half of the kids’ parents also along for the journey.
“It was great. The librarian running the activity even managed to find some songs about clothes,” she said.
Ms Olden said the library’s school holiday program had gone really well so far with many people escaping the cold of winter for a warm place to come in, relax and read a book.
“People are also coming in for more winter activities, like hiring books and movies to take home,” she said.
