More funds for aged care

EXTRA State Government funding will help improve access to aged care services for older residents across southeast Melbourne, Cranbourne MP Jude Perera announced.
Mr Perera said the Aged Care Assessment Service (ACAS) for the municipalities of Casey, Cardinia, Frankston and Mornington Peninsula would benefit from $92,500 in extra annual funding.
“The ACAS service will also benefit from a one off $15,000 funding boost for mobile computing for staff.
“Extra funds for the local ACAS of $107,500 will help ensure frail older people’s needs are assessed more quickly and improve service response rates,” he said.
“Older Victorians can now expect to wait less time for an essential assessment before they get their most suitable aged services.
“The Bracks Government is determined to provide decent services for older Victorians,” Mr Perera said.
