Green waste only

SPRING has sprung and with gardens bursting back into life, locals are encouraged to make proper use of their green waste bins.
The City of Casey is reminding residents it only accepts grass clippings and weeds, light garden prunings, branches, leaves and bark.
Residents are asked to:
· Shake off any dirt before placing garden material in the bins.
· Leave the lid open a little between collections to allow material to dry out.
· Remember the weight limit is 80kg for garden waste bins.
· Not completely fill the bins with heavy lawn clippings.
· Not put plastic bags, pot plants, concrete, logs or bricks in the bins.
For more information call City of Casey’s Customer Service on 9705 5200. New recycling calendars have been distributed to all Casey households and include handy hints on recycling as well as collection days.
See www.casey.vic.gov.au/wasterecyclingcollection if you haven’t received a copy.
