Take care or pay

POLICE are again urging people to lock up their cars and hide valuables as thefts from cars continue to increase in the Cranbourne area.
Detective Sergeant Larry Grimshaw from Cranbourne CIU said a high number of thefts from cars had occurred over the last week, despite police continually warning people to lock their cars.
Det Sgt Grimshaw said over the last week there had been numerous thefts from cars parked outside homes, railway stations and shopping centres in which cars were left unlocked or valuables were left in plain view.
Items stolen included laptops, mobile phones, cash, handbags and, on one occasion, horse riding equipment.
“People have really got to take proper care of their car, and property, and start locking it up,” he said.
