Students get new computers

CRANBOURNE’S government schools have received funds to buy new computers.
The State Government funding aims to allow the schools to buy at least two new computers.
Cranbourne MP Jude Perera said the funding was great news for Cranbourne schools.
“This funding will mean that every local school – primary, secondary or specialist school – will be able to buy new computers,” Mr Perera said.
Cranbourne Park Primary School will receive $12,463, Cranbourne Primary School will get $14,141, Cranbourne Secondary College, $39,671, Cranbourne West Primary School, $22,742, Marnebek School Cranbourne, $4,821 and Rangebank Primary School will receive $13,064.
“The computer-to-student ratio in Victorian government schools is continuing to improve, and on average we have exceeded our target of one computer to every five students,” Mr Perera said. “We’re providing schools with the critical tools to equip students with the skills they need to be part of the workforce of the future.”
Mr Perera said the Cranbourne schools had also been linked to the Wireless Network, which provided learning flexibility by allowing laptop computers to operate free of wires or cables.
