LOCAL sporting clubs look to join major clubs at Casey Fields with their own sign advertising matches built at the entrance.
Organisations such as the Cranbourne football, cricket and netball clubs and Devon Meadows Football Club would be able to give notice of upcoming games and events.
They would join the likes of the Casey Scorpions and Casey South Melbourne Cricket Club, which have their own sign at the entrance to the major sporting complex.
At last week’s the City of Casey council meeting, deputy mayor Kevin Bradford said the smaller teams deserved some form of recognition that Casey Fields was their home ground as well.
“It’s a busy area with crowds that the other sports attract,” he said.
“Those other clubs would also like see their sports advertised.”
Mayor Colin Butler said it was important that all locals were aware of what was coming up at the grounds so they could turn up and see those particular games.
Council officers will now design a sign that fits in with the current advertising sign at Casey Fields.
Officers will also design a suitable glass etching, in consultation with the Casey Scorpions and Cranbourne Football Club, on the entrance doors to the main pavilion at Casey Fields.
