LARGE quantities of alcohol and the use of power tools should never be mixed.
But this was not the case for thieves who targeted a Cranbourne home on the weekend.
Cranbourne police said thieves got away with $5000 worth of power tools and 12 bottles of Johnny Walker after they got into the garage of a Brunt Street home.
The garage door had been left unlocked.
Police said also at the scene they discovered six empty packets of football socks.
Police speculated that the socks had been used to cover the whisky bottles to stop them from making noise.
Also stolen were a pair of sunglasses from the 2003 Mercedes that was parked in the garage. The incident happened between midnight and 10.30am on Saturday.
Police warned people to keep their garage doors locked at all times.
If anyone has information on the thefts, contact Senior Constable Steve Regnier at Cranbourne CIU on 5995 4577.
