Federation University scores esteemed awards

Federation University, with a campus in Berwick, has won multiple accolades at this year’s prestigious Victorian International Education Awards.

Included in the lists of awards is the reputable 2025 Premier’s Award for international Education Provider — one of the highest recognitions for Victoria’s international education.

Presented by the Hon. John Brumby, chair of the advisory council and former Premier of Victoria, the award recognises the university’s investment in international student success and strong track record in preparing graduates for globally competitive careers.

The institution also took home the Excellence in International Student Employability and Career Development Award.

This was acknowledged due to the school’s nation leading ‘co-operative education model’, which helps students, throughout their studies, to kick start their careers by providing real-world work experience and industry connections.

This model offers paid placements that contribute to a student’s qualification without extending their course.

Professor Duncan Bentley, Federation University’s Vice-Chancellor and President, says that the university understands the importance of international students.

“At Federation, we strongly believe international students are vital to who we are as a university and as a community,” Prof. Bentley said.

“These awards affirm our commitment to creating opportunities that ensure international students succeed, both here in Victoria and around the world.”

Established in 1870, the university is now one of the largest educational institutions in Victoria, with campuses in Berwick, Gippsland, Ballarat and the Wimmera region.
