Shitbox on the go

Clyde residents Jenny and Jim Banks are all geared up for the ‘Shitbox Rally’ to raise funds for Cancer Council.

In October, the pair will drive from Melbourne to Townsville in their decorated vehicle, which is worth less than $1000.

This year marks the tenth anniversary since the first rally was run and in that time, over $18m has been raised.

Mr and Mrs Banks will raise a minimum of $5000 and join the 250 other cars involved.

“Cancer Council will allocate the money to research in various cancers,” Mrs Banks said.

“Our car is looking good and our fundraising is getting there.”
