CRANBOURNE Christian College students were treated to a moving Gallipoli presentation by two Cranbourne RSL members last week.
Denny Van Maanenberg and David Lowe decided to share their experiences with the students at the school’s Anzac Day ceremony.
The day was organised by year 11 students Mia Lucas and Joshua Inglis.
Holt MP Anthony Byrne, who also spoke at the ceremony, said the RSL presentation was fantastic.
“It really brought the Anzac experience at Gallipoli to life and it was great to see the keen interest of the students,” Mr Byrne said.
“I strongly encourage other schools to invite Denny and David to give this presentation to their students.”
Mr Byrne also commended Mia and Josh for taking the initiative to organise the ceremony.
“Gallipoli holds a special place in the hearts of Australians as it defines our national identity. Many of the values that we hold dear as Australians were forged on the battlefields of Gallipoli,” he said.
