PSAwins pool contract

THE Cranbourne Aquatic and Leisure Centre came one step closer to the start of construction when the Casey Council awarded the project management contract last week.
PSA Project Management has been awarded the $500,000 deal after discussion between the councillors.
The council committee received 12 applications for the contract.
Mayor Kevin Bradford said PSA Project Management was the best qualified candidate and had worked with the council on previous projects.
PSA Project Management has previously worked on construction at the Melbourne Cricket Ground as well as the Casey ARC centre.
“It will be their responsibility to deliver the project on time and within budget,” Cr Bradford said.
The aquatic centre is due to open by 2008. The $21.5 million complex will include a 50-metre eight-lane pool, 150-metre hot water program pool and a unique active water program that is yet to be finalised.
“We are presently looking at different water activity programs to include in the centre,” Cr Bradford said.
“It could be anything from water slides, white water rafting or a number of other activities.”
