SCREAMS of delight, heart-stopping action and enticing smells were there for those who stopped by this year’s Hillcrest Family Festival.
Despite poor weather, spirits were high at Clyde’s Hillcrest Christian College at the festival on Friday, 7 April.
Festival-goers could choose from several activities including an animal petting zoo, rides, more than 50 market stalls, a festival café, hay rides, pony rides, bargain stalls, trash and treasure stalls, face painting, family games and show bags.
Throughout the evening numerous bands complemented the carnival atmosphere as they competed in the Battle of the Bands competition.
Tim Newnham and his band were unanimously chosen the winners and were awarded a $150 Stothers Music gift voucher.
Also announced on the night was the school’s colouring-in competition.
Placegetters included Erin Bonser, Rikki Spencer, Megan Gower, Glen Banfield, Terri-Lee Campbell and Jessica Schoonderwaldt.
The night concluded with a laser light show accompanied by inspirational music.
