Mud Rats rising to the challenge

Mud Rats has continued its impressive start to the South West Gippsland Dart League (SWGDL) 2026 Summer Season with a hard-fought 8-7 victory over Dart Devils.

The Rats remain one of five undefeated teams after round two; with the tight triumph over the Devils following on from a 12-3 opening-night success over Generals.

Scott provided a highlight for Mud Rats, securing a crucial leg-win with a quality 79 pegout.

Doug Amos continued his fine form for Devils with three tons on the night while his teammate Hoss threw a game-high 89 finish.

Also undefeated is Cheers after a thumping 12-3 win over Gembrook.

Liam and Ant set a high standard for the winners while Jamie drew warm applause with a spectacular 116 checkout.

It was a big night for hot-shot Dean Gibbs as the Snipers scored a 10-5 win over Bullseyes.

Gibbs made it 18 tons in two weeks, with 10 for the night, while he also filled the treble-20 with three darts for the second time in a fortnight.

Chris Richardson pegged out on 76 for Snipers, while Greg claimed one of the Bullseyes five legs with a 42 finish.

Predators are also looming large after a 12-3 defeat of Any Excuse.

Steve provided the big moment of the match with a sensational 131 peg, while his teammate Nathan threw triple figures for fun.

Brendan claimed a rare leg for Any Excuse with a 28-checkout.

The other undefeated team is Just Social who flexed its muscle with a 12-3 win over Dart Vaders.

Tony, Terry and 4X4 all loaded up with heavy scoring on the night, with Tony showing his class with a superb 94 peg.

David Saint had his Vaders mates on their feet after throwing a perfect 180.

In other games, a 74-checkout from Mateo led Generals to an 8-7 win over Fight Club, while Dart Attack scored its first win of the season with a 9-6 success over AAA Dartz.

Ted Jordan had his eye in for AAA with four tons for the evening.

Two of the undefeated teams, Cheers and Mud Rats, feature in the best match up of round three.
