Christmas Lights Competition returns to local estates

Residents across Eve, Avenue, Arbourlea, Allan Farm, Tulliallan, and Sierra Estates are encouraged to attend the annual Christmas Lights Competition.

The competition encourages households to decorate their homes with creative and festive light displays, bringing families, neighbours and visitors together while spreading Christmas cheer throughout the estates.

Organiser Joby George said the event would not be possible without the ongoing support of local businesses and sponsors.

“The support we receive from sponsors within our local community is what allows this

competition to run each year successfully,” he said.

“Their generosity helps us keep the event inclusive, family-friendly and enjoyable for everyone.”

Residents are encouraged to participate by decorating their homes or by nominating neighbours who have gone the extra mile with their displays.

Looking ahead, Mr George said plans were already underway to expand the event in the coming year.

“The response from the community has been overwhelming, and next year we are planning something even bigger,” he said.

“We’re excited to build on this momentum and continue strengthening community ties.”

The Christmas Lights Competition is open to all households across the participating estates, with judging and community engagement continuing throughout the festive period.

Residents can nominate themselves or their neighbour by messaging through the Facebook group for Eve, Avenue, Arbourlea, Allan Farm, Tulliallan and Sierra estates. Alternatively, they can participate by messaging the WhatsApp group for the estate. Judging will be completed, and winners will be announced on 23 December.
