A MAN was bashed by his taxi driver following a dispute in Hampton Park recently.
It is believed the 25-year-old Hallam man fell asleep after catching a taxi from St Kilda about 6am on Sunday, 2 April.
An argument began after he woke to find the taxi driver had stopped in Hampton Park instead of Hallam. The driver allegedly hit the man several times to the head with a metal bar before dumping him on the side of the road.
The man reported the incident to the nearby McDonalds restaurant.
He was later treated at his local GP for head injuries.
Anyone who may have witnessed the attack is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or the officer in charge at Cranbourne Police Station on 5995 4681.
