Click go the Sheers’ team…click, click, click

It was another great day for the South West Gippsland Midweek Bowling Group with 30 members heading to the Loch and District Bowls Club to compete in the weekly challenge.

The weather was a wonderful spring day with temperatures just slightly above zero, and winds making it feel somewhat colder.

But, the cold temperature aside, the on-again off-again rain made us all feel so happy.

But, our sanity (or insanity) aside, we all seemed to have a fantastic day, with lots of laughter and friendly banter and most of all, lots of great bowls.

I personally didn’t see any wrong-bias bowls; however, with the breeze we did appear to see lots of them.

But they weren’t wrong bias; it’s just that the wind definitely sent the bowls off in the wrong direction.

Anyway, a big thank you goes to all the Loch members who prepared everything for our members.

Thank you Sue, Trevor, Alex and anyone else I forgot to mention.

Also thank you again to Bev, Aggie and John who signed us in and prepared the teams for today.

Anyway as usual we have winners and we have the rest of us.

The weekly winners on a score of 36 were Mick Sheers (S), Cheryl Floyd (3) and John Kappler (L).

Runners up on a very close score of 35 were Peter Taylor (2), David Prosser (L), Trevor Loughridge (3) and Phil Nielsen (S).

Best One Game winners on a score of 18 were Tony Heppleston (3), Jaye A-D (S), Maggie Prosser (L) and Ron Felton (2).

This week we will be meeting at Corinella to once again fight it out for team of the week.

Please be on site by 10am to allow time to prepare the teams.

Unfortunately with numbers generally reaching our capacity we will have to be strict on a 10am cut off time.

Meanwhile till then, have fun and stay safe.
